Analysis: Kempny has no goals and three assists in 13 games.
11/23/2017 Torrey Mitchell, Mon, C
Mitchell was traded to the Kings on Thursday in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2018.

Analysis: Mitchell has played in 11 games with the Canadiens this year, going scoreless with two penalty minutes. He has played for the Canadiens, Buffalo, Minnesota and San Jose during his 10-year NHL career. In 617 regular-season games, Mitchell has 61 goals, 80 assists and 323 penalty minutes. 11/23/2017 Steve Mason, Wpg, G
Mason made 38 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

Analysis: Mason, who has been cast in the backup role due to the strong play of Connor Hellebuyck, made his first appearance since a 4-1 win in Arizona on Nov. 11. He knows the importance of staying sharp mentally while playing infrequently. "You might think you feel good, but as soon as the game rolls around, everything happens that much faster," Mason said.
11/23/2017 Jonathan Quick, LA, G
Quick made 25 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Jets.

Analysis: It was a solid performance after he was pulled in the first period of his previous start. However, Quick has lost six in a row, posting a 3.44 GAA and .899 save percentage.
11/23/2017 Tyler Toffoli, LA, RW
Toffoli tipped in a power-play goal in the Kings' 2-1 loss to the Jets on Wednesday.

Analysis: Toffoli has a team-high 10 goals after scoring only 16 through 63 games last season. Seven of his goals and all but one of his six assists have come at home.
11/23/2017 Patrik Laine, Wpg, RW
Laine scored the game-winner on the power play in Wednesday's victory over the Kings.

Analysis: Laine is tied for the team lead with 11 goals after scoring seven in 10 games this month. Four of those goals have come on the power play.
11/23/2017 John Gibson, Anh, G
Gibson stopped 45 of Vegas' 49 shots in a 4-2 loss Wednesday.

Analysis: For the third straight start, Gibson faced more than 40 shots. He had won his prior two starts on a combined 90 saves with four goals allowed. "Too many times of late, we've been relying on our goaltender," teammate Josh Manson said. "We were fortunate to win some of those games. A game like this was due."
11/23/2017 Derek Grant, Anh, C
Grant scored his fifth goal of the season Wednesday but finished at a minus-3.

Analysis: Grant had entered the season without a goal in his first 86 NHL games. He's seen a huge uptick in ice time recently, averaging about 17 1/2 minutes in his last eight games, and has become a regular on the power play.
11/23/2017 James Neal, VGK, RW
Neal had a goal and an assist along with a plus-2 in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.

Analysis: Neal has found new life in Vegas, leading the team with 11 goals after totaling 23 last season for Nashville. He has four goals and two assists in his last seven games.
11/23/2017 William Karlsson, VGK, C
Karlsson scored his 10th goal of the season, had an assist and posted a plus-2 in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.

Analysis: Karlsson reached double digits in goals for the first time in his four-year career, helping surprising Vegas into first place. He's scored six in his last five games, also chipping in two assists.
11/23/2017 Jonathan Marchessault, VGK, C
Marchessault had a power-play goal and two assists Wednesday night, rallying Vegas from a two-goal deficit to a 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. He was a plus-2 with two penalty minutes.

Analysis: Marchessault, who had 30 goals a season ago, is up to six goals through 17 games. He's scored two and recorded three assists in his last three games while posting a plus-6.
11/23/2017 Ben Bishop, Dal, G
Bishop stopped 29 of 32 shots in Wednesday's 3-0 loss at Colorado.

Analysis: Bishop didn't play badly. In fact, teammate Jamie Benn said he "played a great game and made huge saves." However, Bishop continues to have big problems on the road, where he has a 4.04 GAA and a 2-6 record in nine starts.
11/23/2017 Jonathan Bernier, Col, G
Bernier made 28 saves in a 3-0 win over the Stars on Wednesday.

Analysis: Bernier made his second straight start in place of an ailing Semyon Varlamov and recorded his 15th career shutout.
11/23/2017 Gabriel Landeskog, Col, LW
Landeskog scored his ninth goal of the season and posted a plus-3 in Wednesday's win over the Stars.

Analysis: He's already halfway to his goal total from all of last season in 72 games. Landeskog has not gone more than two straight games without scoring in the past month. In his last 12 games, he has seven goals, five assists and a plus-8.
11/23/2017 Nathan MacKinnon, Col, C
MacKinnon had three assists, including one off a faceoff with a second remaining in the second period, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Dallas Stars 3-0 on Wednesday night.

Analysis: MacKinnon may be the hottest player in the NHL with 20 points in his last 10 games on six goals and 14 assists. The 22-year-old is a plus-11 in that span after posting a plus-3 on Wednesday.
11/23/2017 Martin Jones, SJ, G
Jones stopped 26 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win in Arizona.

Analysis: Jones has yielded a combined six goals in his last four starts. He's been terrific in five road starts this season, winning four of them while yielding a combined five goals.
11/23/2017 Brendan Perlini, Ari, LW
Perlini had the Coyotes' lone goal but finished at a minus-1 in Wednesday's loss to the Sharks.

Analysis: Perlini scored for the second straight game. He has four goals and an assist in his last seven games while averaging nearly 16 minutes of ice time. That's up about three minutes from his average through his first 11 games as he managed just three points.
11/23/2017 Joe Thornton, SJ, C
Thornton scored his third goal of the season Wednesday.

Analysis: Thornton had gone five straight games without a point and 10 in a row without a goal. At least he's being more aggressive lately with 10 shots in his last three outings after an eight-game stretch during which he had just six. Timo Meier joining Thornton and Joe Pavelski's line could be a reason why. ''I think with Timo with us last game it brought us a lot of energy and a lot of chances,'' said Thornton. ''Me and Pavs really like playing with him."
11/23/2017 Logan Couture, SJ, LW
Couture scored his team-leading 11th goal and had two penalty minutes while posting a plus-2 in Wednesday's win in Arizona.

Analysis: This was just the second game in his last 10 in which Couture scored. Only two of those games were on the road. Couture has six goals and two assists in his last six road games, but he has just two goals and one assist in his last seven at home.
11/23/2017 Antti Raanta, Ari, G
Raanta was lifted with an unspecified upper-body injury 14:37 into the first period Wednesday against San Jose after stopping all nine shots he faced.

Analysis: It was the third time that Raanta needed to come out of a game because of injury this season. He played only one full game in Arizona's first 13 because of two lower-body injuries. Scott Wedgewood replaced Raanta and will be the No. 1 goalie until Raanta is healthy. Marek Langhamer was called up from the AHL to be Wedgewood's backup.
