Analysis: Control has been an issue during Freeland's short time in the big leagues, as he's walked nine in 14 1/3 innings over his three starts. The 23-year-old was tagged for six runs in 4 2/3 innings in his previous appearance, so he's not a highly recommended fantasy option right now.

Analysis: It was a far cry from his major league debut five days earlier when he threw six innings of one-run ball to beat the Dodgers, but the 23-year-old didn't seem to have his confidence shaken. "Whether you're a rookie or a veteran, you're going to have ups or downs," Freeland said, "and realizing that and taking care of it as quickly as possible is the best way to go about it, I believe. Today was one of those down days, but in five days, I get the ball again."

Analysis: Freeland became the first starting pitcher to make his big league debut in his team's home opener in the state in which he was born since 1966. The eighth overall pick of the 2014 draft, Freeland grew up not far from the Rockies ballpark and used to participate in pregame youth baseball parades around the warning track at Coors Field. Because his parents wouldn't let him skip school, this marked the first home opener he'd ever attended.
